Sean “Diddy” Combs, a hip-hop mogul, faces federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. His arrest in New York stemmed from civil suits alleging sexual assault and violence. Over a dozen individuals have filed lawsuits against Combs.
Combs, 54, was arrested on September 16 for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and prostitution. Federal prosecutors allege Combs created a criminal enterprise to fulfill his desires. Prosecutors claim Combs used drugs, violence, and status to lure victims.
Authorities found firearms, ammunition, and lubricant during raids on Combs’s homes in March. Prosecutors spoke with witnesses and accusers, leaving open the possibility of additional charges. Consequently, Combs’s legal team faces increased scrutiny.
Combs pleaded not guilty to three felony counts. His attorney says he’s “not afraid of the charges.” However, prosecutors argue Combs poses a “serious flight risk.” Combs has been denied bail twice.
Key accusers include Cassie Ventura, who alleged Combs trapped her in abuse and sex trafficking. Joi Dickerson-Neal claimed Combs drugged and raped her in 1991. Liza Gardner accused Combs and Aaron Hall of forced sex.
Combs’s legal team denies the accusations as “baseless” and “publicity attempts.” Nevertheless, allegations mount.
Six anonymous accusers filed lawsuits on October 14. One accused Combs of hotel rape; another claimed he ordered a 16-year-old boy to undress. Combs’s legal team stated, “Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted anyone.”
The Diddy Sex Trafficking case continues, with a trial set for May 2025.
