Dubai, UAE — A clearer video of the Indian Air Force LCA Tejas moments before its crash at the Dubai Air Show 2025 has emerged, offering new insight into the incident that shocked spectators and aviation experts.
The footage shows the Tejas performing a high-energy aerobatic maneuver when it suddenly lost lift and altitude, suggesting the aircrew may have misjudged the maneuver during the display routine. The jet crashed shortly afterward, sending smoke into the sky as emergency crews rushed to the scene.
The aircraft was taking part in a scheduled aerobatics demonstration, showcasing India’s indigenous light combat aircraft to an international audience of military and aerospace leaders.
Initial assessments by aviation analysts indicate the maneuver attempted appeared to push the jet close to its performance limits. The new video, which captures the jet’s final seconds from a clearer angle, supports the growing view that pilot miscalculation, rather than mechanical failure, may have been a key factor.
The Indian Air Force has confirmed the crash and stated that a full investigation is underway in coordination with Dubai Air Show officials. No casualties on the ground were reported, and emergency responders contained the crash site quickly.
