Residents interested in the Prince William Sound shrimp fisheries will have an opportunity to hear directly from state biologists during a public online meeting hosted by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
The virtual meeting will take place on Thursday, February 12, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., and is open to the public via Zoom. Biologists from ADF&G’s Division of Sport Fish and Commercial Fisheries will present an overview of how the shrimp fishery is managed, discuss recent trends, and explain what fishermen and communities can expect for the 2026 season.
The session will include a 45-minute presentation, followed by 45 minutes of public questions and discussion. Participants who wish to submit questions in advance may email them to dfg.dsf.pws.shrimp@alaska.gov.
ADF&G says the meeting is intended to improve transparency and understanding of shrimp management in Prince William Sound, which supports both commercial and recreational fisheries.
