A group of U.S. Army soldiers from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) is being credited with quick, decisive action after a vehicle lost control on the Glenn Highway, according to a report shared by military officials.
The soldiers were traveling together when they saw a car skid across the roadway, spinning toward them on the icy highway. Without hesitation, they stopped their vehicle, assessed the scene, and moved in to help the driver.
Witnesses said the soldiers worked together to secure the area, check on injuries, and assist the motorist until first responders arrived. Their response helped prevent additional collisions during active traffic and slick winter conditions.
