Authorities in Anchorage, Alaska, are searching for 15-year-old Dominique Jade Smith, who has been missing since March 1 from the Eagle River area, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
The Anchorage Police Department confirmed that Dominique Jade Smith, 15, was last known to be in the Eagle River community, northeast of Anchorage. Police have not released further details about the circumstances of her disappearance, but investigators are asking the public to help locate the missing teenager.
Family members and community members are working to raise awareness about Dominique’s disappearance in hopes that someone may have information about her whereabouts.
The case has also drawn attention to broader concerns about missing Indigenous women and children in Alaska.
Advocates have long raised concerns about the visibility of missing persons cases in Alaska, particularly those involving Alaska Native women and children. National systems such as the National Crime Information Center and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children track cases, but local law enforcement agencies are not required to maintain publicly accessible lists of missing individuals.
The search for Dominique Jade Smith remains active. Authorities are asking anyone with information about her location to contact the Anchorage Police Department at 907-786-8900 or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
