The City and Borough of Juneau announced that CBJ facilities will remain closed through the weekend of Jan. 10–11 due to ongoing hazardous road and weather conditions.
Officials urged residents to stay off the roads to protect public safety and allow snow removal and street maintenance crews to work safely and efficiently. Residents are also advised to limit travel in known avalanche exposure areas.
Facilities closed during the weekend include all Juneau Public Libraries locations and the Juneau-Douglas City Museum. All Juneau Parks & Recreation facilities will also be closed, including the Dimond Park Field House, Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Augustus G. Brown Pool, Treadwell Arena, the Zach Gordon Youth Center, and other recreation sites. The Shéiyi X̱aat Hit Youth Shelter will remain open.
The Juneau Recycling Center and Household Hazardous Waste facilities will be closed through the weekend as well.
Capital Transit will continue operating on winter routes, though buses will not make stops on Glacier Highway between the Federal Building and Bartlett Hospital. Additional transit details are available through the Capital Transit website.

CBJ said crews will continue assessing conditions, monitoring facilities, and clearing roofs while increasing staffing and resources to support ongoing response efforts.
