Bethel Church, led by Bill Johnson, has launched its Sydney expansion efforts. On November 3, 2024, Johnson and Kris Vallotton commissioned Matt and Elisabeth King as Elisabeth King as senior leaders of Bethel Sydney.
This expansion marks Bethel’s eighth church plant. Other locations include Redding, Atlanta, Austin, Cleveland, New York, New Zealand, and Valparaiso. Bethel Church has planted five churches in the last 15 years.
Vallotton shared, “We’ve planted three churches in five years, and our last one was in New York. Now we’re planting in Sydney.”
Matt King envisions Bethel Sydney as “a dwelling place for the Lord” where people encounter God face-to-face. He believes Australia is experiencing a “divine moment” with a hunger for genuine Holy Spirit experiences.
Dave Harvey recalled Vallotton’s prophecy that Australia’s church would step into a new era, with revival sweeping the East Coast.
Elisabeth King shared their journey, meeting at Bethel School of Ministry and serving as pastors and missionaries in Europe. They moved to Australia two years ago.
Their ministry saw remarkable results, with healing, transformed lives, and sold-out conferences. Bethel Church reiterated its prophetic decision to plant in Sydney. The vision is revival. With the Sydney expansion efforts, the Kings bring revival to Australia.
