Community members still have an opportunity to support local animal adoption efforts following this past weekend’s Bark in the Park event, as the event’s online silent auction remains open.
Organizers announced that the auction continues to accept bids for a variety of donated items, with proceeds benefiting animal adoption initiatives and community partners involved in the event. Officials say every bid contributes directly to supporting animals in need and strengthening local adoption programs.
Residents who were unable to attend the event in person, or who wish to continue supporting the cause, can browse auction items and learn more about dogs currently available for adoption through the event’s official online platform.
Bark in the Park was hosted by Alaska State Parks in partnership with the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation and brought together dog owners, families, volunteers, and local organizations for a holiday-themed celebration focused on community engagement and outdoor recreation. The event featured adoptable dogs, local vendors, and activities along Alaska’s trail system, along with a seasonal appearance by Santa.

Event organizers expressed appreciation for the support shown by attendees, volunteers, sponsors, and vendors, noting that community involvement plays a key role in sustaining animal welfare efforts and public events across the region.
Organizers say they look forward to continued community participation and to welcoming residents and their pets on Alaska’s trails in the future.
