An Anchorage jury on Tuesday convicted Adam Darius Pringle, 43, of Murder in the Second Degree and Manslaughter in connection with the March 2022 killing of Keenan Wegener, 27, following a jury trial in Anchorage Superior Court.
Evidence presented at trial showed that Pringle and co-defendant Daniel Alex Rocero, 48, assaulted Wegener inside an East Anchorage residence. Prosecutors said the two men beat Wegener with an eight-pound metal sledgehammer, stood on his neck and chest, and later placed his body inside a large plastic storage tote. Wegener died from asphyxia and blunt force trauma, according to testimony.
Officers with the Alaska Pretrial Services Division (PED) discovered Wegener’s body inside the home two days after the killing.
Rocero was convicted in May 2023 after a separate jury found him guilty of Murder in the Second Degree, Manslaughter, and Tampering with Evidence. He was later sentenced by Superior Court Judge Peter Ramgren to 60 years in prison with 10 years suspended, resulting in 50 years to serve for his role in the homicide, along with an additional two-year sentence for evidence tampering.
Pringle now faces a potential sentence of up to 99 years in prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 24, 2026.

The case was investigated by the Anchorage Police Department’s Homicide Unit, with early investigative support provided by the Alaska Pretrial Services Division. Victims for Justice, a nonprofit organization that supports victims of violent crime, assisted Wegener’s family throughout the legal process.
The prosecution was led by Anchorage Assistant District Attorneys Ashley D. McGraw and Nolan Gerlach, with paralegal assistance from Kimberly Smith.
