Anchorage Animal Care and Control (AACC) is hosting a Holiday Adoption Event this Saturday at the Mt. View Petco, offering residents an opportunity to meet adoptable pets during the final weekend of holiday shopping.
The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., featuring dogs currently available for adoption through Anchorage Animal Care and Control. Organizers say the goal is to connect animals in need of permanent homes with families looking to add a pet during the holiday season.
A festive highlight of the event includes an appearance by “Santa Paws,” adding a seasonal atmosphere while promoting animal adoption and responsible pet ownership. Staff and volunteers will be on-site to answer questions about the adoption process and help match pets with suitable homes.
Anchorage Animal Care and Control encourages community members to attend, even if they are not ready to adopt, noting that public engagement helps raise awareness about local shelter animals and adoption programs.
