The Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Alaska Arts & Culture Foundation have announced plans to host the Alaska Statewide Arts and Culture Convergence in Anchorage on April 16–17, 2026.
The two-day gathering will bring together artists, cultural leaders, educators, nonprofit organizations, and community advocates from across the state to share ideas, strengthen collaboration, and highlight initiatives shaping Alaska’s arts and culture sector. Organizers say the event is designed to support statewide connection and knowledge-sharing while addressing both urban and rural perspectives.
As part of the conference program, submissions are now open for the Spotlight Series, a featured session format that offers eight-minute presentations. These short talks are intended to highlight impactful practices, innovative programs, emerging concepts, and community assets that are helping elevate Alaska’s arts and culture ecosystem.
In an effort to broaden participation, organizers are also accepting applications for a Conference Access Stipend. The stipend is designed to provide financial assistance to help cover costs associated with attending the event, particularly for participants traveling from communities outside Anchorage.
The Alaska Statewide Arts and Culture Convergence is supported by several sponsors, including the Atwood Foundation, Rasmuson Foundation, Alaska Airlines, and the Hecla Charitable Foundation.
Organizers say the event aims to strengthen networks, amplify local voices, and support the long-term growth and sustainability of arts and culture across Alaska.
