The Alaska House of Representatives unanimously approved sweeping legislation imposing new restrictions on social media platforms and artificial intelligence systems, citing growing concerns over online safety and digital privacy.
The bill includes stronger age verification requirements, expanded parental controls, and increased transparency for how platforms use algorithms to recommend content. It also adds oversight measures for certain AI systems used in areas such as employment and public services.
