The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) is set to launch its 2025–2026 Winter Wildlife Series next week, beginning with an in-depth presentation on Alaska’s wood bison herds and ongoing restoration efforts.
The first talk in the series will be held on Thursday, December 11th at 7 p.m., featuring wood bison biologist Tom Seaton, who will share the latest updates on herd behavior, population health, habitat challenges, and long-term recovery plans for wood bison across the state.
Wood bison, once extinct in Alaska, have been part of an ongoing conservation and reintroduction effort led by ADF&G and partners. The presentation will highlight current progress and the next steps in strengthening and expanding wood bison herds in the region.
